Emerge USA and the American Muslim Community Center (AMCC) is excited to host a Sharing Ramadan event on Thursday, June 25, 2015 @ 6:30pm.
Sharing Ramadan was organized in an effort to build a bridge of understanding from the American Muslim community to leaders - elected officials and other faith leaders - throughout the state. Through Sharing Ramadan, we invite non-Muslims to attend and learn more about American Muslims, dispel negative stereotypes and experience our faith as practiced by their constituents/ neighbors. We invite the American Muslim community to attend and break iftar and share the beauty of the month of Ramadan with others.
We envision an America where minority communities are valued and not marginalized. As we continue these efforts across the state, we look forward to shaping a culture of engagement and civic activism amongst a community that is frequently the subject of prejudice and infrequently called upon to share their side. With your participation, we hope to empower minority communities to better engage in democracy for not just the betterment of their local communities, but America as a whole.
Bring a non-Muslim friend to share in an iftar or even fast with you for a day this year! Let the world share in the experience and know the love and spiritual awareness this month. Take a picture or post with #sharingramadan #hungrytogether #myfirstiftar
Come join us at the AMCC on Wednesday, June 24, 2015 at 6:30pm located at 811 Wilma St, Longwood, FL 32750!
